Earagail Arts Festival County Donegal

The Earagail Arts Festival is in its twentieth year and is County Donegal’s biggest festival. Showcasing a diverse programme of music, exhibitions, drama, carnival events and fireworks in the towns and villages throughout North Donegal, there is a spectacular mix of magical events in stunning locations, most of which are suitable for all the family.

This year’s music programme includes international guitar virtuoso Francisco Garcia, Altan, Liam O’Maonlaí and the world renowned kora player, Toumani Diabaté, Donal Lunny, The Undertones, the Screaming Orphans and Colombian percussionist Roberta Pla and his 15-piece.

The Earagail Art Festival also presents a wide range of theatre, comedy and dance during the festival. Go along to St Conal’s Church, Letterkenny, to see the drama, dance and music spectacular of Nil by Mouth or watch the enchanting A Midsummer Night’s Dream featuring a cast of local theatrical talent. A variety of performances will take place throughout the rest of the county.

The Donegal Festival showcases a wide range of visual arts with the Regional Cultural Centre and An Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny presenting a host of exhibitions. Festival goers can also take part in a number of workshops held throughout the festival from flamenco dance and guitar to the Cois Fharraige Workshop for children, in which large scale sculptures are built using textiles, paper, willow and other materials.
