Neil and Mandy Blaney’s large Bar and Restaurant with rooms is a brand new conversion of an old building and really lives up to its name as diners in the vast dining room on the edge of Lough Swilly can gaze out at one of the finest views to be had anywhere.

Arriving guests get a warm welcome and, although everything is gleaming glass, light polished wood and shiny steel, carpeted floors keep the noise down and soft lighting from walls and overhead beams soften the atmosphere.

Tables are set up simply but attractively, and almost all tables have a view; menus offer a range of dishes divided evenly between meat and fish (Donegal sirloin steak or roast tail of monkfish), with something imaginative for vegetarians.
